Samuel Lloyd learner journey One question at a time.
Have you called / contacted your assessor about the upcoming job? Tell me what the job is, where it is, roughly when it is happening and what stage of the work you expect to be doing.
NO — I HAVEN'T YES — I HAVE
Great — use the ideal route A broad-range job can let us capture a lot of the qualification efficiently through observation, PD, work products and targeted gap evidence.
That is fine — use the Targeted Evidence Route You do not need to find one massive job. We will review your gaps, give you specific targets and use each genuine smaller job to chip away at the remaining criteria and range.
You will still need the required observation/site-visit evidence. The difference is that more of the remaining gaps may be closed across several smaller jobs using the most appropriate genuine evidence.
Have you booked your site visit? NO YES

What will the site visit mainly cover? Choose the closest option.
UNIT 315 — FIRST FIX / INSTALLATION UNITS 316/317 — SECOND FIX & TESTING
First fix observed — what happens next? I will usually use the observation to evidence the first-fix / installation stage. You should then gather evidence for the later second-fix, termination and testing stage and complete the reflective account I ask for.
At the site visit: expect Unit 311 safe-working evidence and a Unit 312 PD as part of the assessment activity.
Second fix / testing observed — what happens next? I will usually use the observation to evidence the later stage. You should then provide genuine evidence and a reflective account for the earlier first-fix stage that I did not see.
At the site visit: expect Unit 311 safe-working evidence and a Unit 312 PD as part of the assessment activity.
Before the Unit 313 PD: have you uploaded the job documents? Upload the genuine company/job documents into Assessment Evidence in OneFile before the discussion.
NO — NOT YET YES — UPLOADED
Upload the documents first Typical documents include job sheet / works order, drawings or specification, risk assessment, method statement, programme of work, materials / resource information and delivery or collection records where available.
Do not recreate paperwork. Company-generated documents are fine. You need to explain how you received, checked and used them in your role.
Good — prepare for the Unit 313 discussion Use the preparation page before the PD. While you are waiting for the next assessment stage, keep taking useful photos of new work and keep genuine work products.
